Common Questions About Our Denture Services
Do I need a referral to see a denturist?
No referral is required. You can book a consultation directly with our Registered Denturist to discuss your options and next steps.
Is denturism a regulated profession in British Columbia?
Yes. Denturism has been a regulated health profession in BC since 1988, currently overseen by the British Columbia College of Oral Health Professionals.
Will my dental insurance cover my dentures?
Powell River Denture Clinic Ltd. accepts all dental insurance plans, including the CDCP. Contact us to confirm what your specific plan covers.
Does the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) cover implant-supported dentures?
Implant-supported dentures and related implant procedures are currently excluded from CDCP coverage, though complete and partial dentures are eligible. Contact us for help confirming your coverage.
What's the difference between complete and partial dentures?
Complete dentures replace an entire arch of teeth. Partial dentures fill gaps while working around the natural teeth you still have. Our denturist can help you determine which fits your situation.
How is an implant-supported denture different from a regular denture?
Implant-supported dentures attach to dental implants for added stability, which can reduce shifting compared to a removable denture alone.
What happens if my new denture doesn't feel right after I receive it?
Call our office to book an adjustment or consultation.
Can you repair or reline a denture I got somewhere else?
Contact our clinic to discuss your specific denture, as repair and reline options can vary by case and by the denture's original construction.
Do you offer soft liners or night guards?
Yes. We offer comfortable soft liners and custom night guards as part of our denture services. See our complete services page for more details.
